Hardwar. The Software Refinery (1998) PC

I’ve never been much of a fan of flight sims, but something about Hardwar kept me coming back for more, year after year. Story The skies of Saturn’s Moon, Titan, are littered with dogfights, traders scurrying to hide from pirates,

Command & Conquer. Westwood Studios (1995) PC

GDI DISC DETECTED. Wait, that only happened on the PlayStation version!!! Immediate 10 point reduction for the PC version off the bat. I did a short Twitter Poll of people’s favourite defunct Developers of the 90s and our good friend

Theme Park. Bullfrog Productions (1994) PC

We have a long history of loving Bullfrog. They were honestly one of our favourite developers of the 90s and you can see why. Theme Park, Theme Hospital and Dungeon Keeper, and that is ignoring groundbreaking games such as Magic

Portal. Valve Corporation (2007) PC

Holy hell Portal is way older than I though it was and up until now I’ve never actually played it. No reason for that, just other things to do at the time (I mostly played a lot of World of

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Infocom (1984) Web Browser

For a long time I considered the BBC TV series of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and Douglas Adams’ book* to be the funniest thing ever written. Sure the show is dated and has that classic BBC look of

Phew that was exhausting! About 100 hours has been poured into UFO: Aftermath, Aftershock and Afterlife. The series is a little mixed, and with a 3rd game trying the UFO: Apocalypse route going into the game I am skeptical.

UFO: Aftershock. Altar Games (2005) PC

UFO: Aftershock is the sequel to UFO: Aftermath, and is not officially related to UFO: Enemy Unknown (X-Com: UFO Defense). Interestingly, the 3rd game in the series, Afterlight, is not a sequel to Aftershock in terms of the story. Of all

UFO: Aftermath. Altar Games (2003) PC

UFO: Aftermath started off  “The Dreamland Chronicles: Freedom Ridge” by Mythos Games, but was eventually abandoned. It is an homage to X-Com, and is partly based on the abandoned X-Com: Genesis. It is *NOT* officially related to UFO: Enemy Unknown (X-Com:
