Resident Evil: Revelations 2. Capcom (2015) XBox 360

Originally released as individual episodes over the course of a few months, sensible people will have just bought the box set disc and saved themselves effort and money.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed Revelations 1 as it felt like a proper Resident Evil. It also had a story that was relatively well written for a Crapcom game.

So will Capcom knock Revelations 2 out the park, or will it be an incoherent bag of wank like Resident Evil 6? Continue reading

Gotcha Force. Capcom (2004) Gamecube

Yo, this be Reuben. You probably don’t know me, let’s face it, but I write for ol’ Stuff and That. That fact beside, I write for these chaps now as well, so hi.

You probably haven’t heard of Gotcha Force before, and that’s because it was a pretty random game, and went relatively unnoticed aside by some nutters with its mixed review scores and obnoxious shtick. Turns out, I was one of those nutters who noticed it, and played over 1000 hours of it back in the day. Recently, I’ve gone back to it, and I’m wondering if it’s really as good as I remember it. Bucky O’Hare. Konami (1992) Nintendo

The site has become a bit Capcom heavy, so I am going to try upping the Konami output for the month with Konami Month.

I don’t remember Bucky O’Hare. I knew of it as a kid, and I had some of the toys, but after recently watching the 13 episodes that were made for TV I realise I had no recollection of it. Which makes this an odd one for me. I kind of have nostalgia for it, but not really enough to blind me to the faults.

The cartoon is pretty hard to watch now, and can be as cringey as The Turtles cartoon when re-watching, but presumably you came here for the game…

Mega Man, Capcom (1987) Nintendo

Megaman_nes_pal

It has taken me 25 years to finally beat Mega Man 1. I can remember borrowing MM1 and MM2 as a child from my mum’s friend, at that age I don’t think I could beat a level, but as time went on, I’d whip it out and have the occasional bash… Continue reading

Mega Man X2. Capcom (1995) Super Nintendo

Mega Man X2

I love Mega Man X, and I even shelled out £120 buying a boxed copy, and it got me thinking, guess I’ll try and get X2…

Don’t bother trying to get X2 in PAL regions, that shit is expensive. Jap, and NTSC regions have it better, and they can get copies for $60, PAL it’ll cost you £300 minimum for X2…

So… I bought it on the WII Virtual Arcade for £7.

Mega Man X, Capcom (1994) Super Nintendo

Mega Man X PAL SNES

I probably can’t talk about Mega Man X without telling you to go watch Ego Raptor’s Sequelitis video. It is good, and unusually well balanced for an internet video, though he may be single handily responsible for the price of Mega Man X going through the roof. My copy cost £125…

So, is Mega Man X one of the greatest game ever?
