This game is a big fat phoney as there is actually not a lot of the Millennium Falcon in it. But then I guess “Star Wars: Generic Space Combat Game” didn’t have as good a ring to it.
Now to give this game some context, it is so poor I literally couldn’t get anyone out of 20,000 to play it, and thus chucked the bastard game into a mosh pit at Bloodstock Festival and watched 75% of the game on YouTube.
Fuck is this game barebones! I ragged on Starwing for being ass, but with 2 generations and 10 years between these games Starwing holds up better and had more content.
In Flight of the Falcon you pilot various crafts visiting scenes from the original trilogy. But this is how all the levels go; A) Kill 40 units, however long that takes you is the length of the level and he level repeats until you reach your quota. B) Drive forward for a set time limit…
There is no skill or difficulty in either, on Mos Eisley there is no collision detection, so your mission of drive to the exit is just 3 minutes of you pressing forward. *SOME* scenery hurts you, but most doesn’t. It means these levels are boring as shit, and I can’t be bothered trying to sound clever here, it is fart. A wet none smelly fart in a mild breeze.
I don’t know what else to say. It would look like shit for a SNES game never mind a GBA, the levels are pointless, the combat is terrible and Starwing did it all better, and Starwing was not a good game.
The game is shit basically and is a cashgrab we could have done without. Nobody wanted to play this game, and even less wanted to review it.
Pros: You can hear the Imperial March in super tinny low res.
Cons: The imperial March plays on most levels. Everything else.
Back in the day:
Flight of the Falcon garned highly impressive 4 out of 10s. It was shit then, it is worse now.
